5-Ingredient Protein Bars (no-Bake!)

These no-bake protein bars are quick and easy to make, and they’re packed with all the goodness of peanut butter and oats.

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup or honey, plus more to taste
  • 1 cup vanilla, chocolate, or plain whey protein powder


  1. In a medium heavy pot over medium heat, combine the milk and peanut butter and cook until smooth and slightly bubbling about 2 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat.
  3. Add in the maple syrup (or honey) and protein powder and stir until well combined.
  4. Stir in the oats until evenly coated with the peanut butter mixture.
  5. Pour into an 8×8 baking dish lined with parchment paper or foil sprayed with cooking spray and press firmly into the pan with a spatula until completely flat and even throughout.
  6. Top with any add-ins if desired before refrigerating for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) before cutting into bars!
  7. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months!

5-Ingredient Protein Bars (Peanut Butter Chocolate!)

These protein bars will have you feeling satisfied without feeling bloated or weighed down.


  • 1 ¼ cups creamy salted peanut butter (or sub almond, cashew, or sunflower)
  • 5 Medjool dates, pitted (add more for sweeter bars)
  • 2/3 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/3 cup chia seeds (or sub other seeds, such as sesame or flax)
  • 1/3-1/2 cup protein powder (vanilla, flavored, or chocolate — or other flavor of choice)


  1. In a food processor pulse together all ingredients until they form a sticky dough.
  2. If too dry add 1 tbsp more water and repeat if too wet add 1 tbsp more oats.
  3. Scoop out by the tablespoonful onto a lined baking sheet.
  4. Press down with your hand to flatten each ball and place in the freezer for 15 minutes to harden up slightly before enjoying!
