- 2 tbs olive oil
- 2 tbs lemon juice or vinegar (I used white wine vinegar)
- 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (crushed)
Then just mash everything together in a bowl until there are no lumps left!

It’s easy to make, and it gives you the chance to use up any leftover veggies in your fridge.
Plus, it’s healthy and delicious! I like making my own salsa because I can control the ingredients that go into it—no preservatives or artificial flavors here!
You could serve this with tortilla chips or on top of grilled chicken burgers or even as a dip for raw veggies.
For the salsa recipe itself, I recommend starting with whatever vegetables are available in season at local markets right now.
Then add some fresh herbs and spices (I usually use cilantro and garlic), as well as some vinegar for tanginess (vinegar helps cut through all those strong flavors).
As with any sauce that’s made at home, you can control the quality of your ingredients.
For example, I prefer to use real mustard (or make my own) instead of yellow mustard packets.
If you want to go the natural route, look for honey without high fructose corn syrup or other additives.
Feel free to experiment with different types of honey until you find something that suits your taste buds.

Mango sauce is a great addition to any veggie burger. It adds some tropical flavor, and it’s also a great way to add sweetness to your burger.

This sauce is so good, it will impress people who think they don’t like bearnaise.
The trick to making it is whisking the egg yolks over low heat until thickened and then slowly adding wine and vinegar.
The vinegar helps prevent the eggs from curdling!
You can keep this sauce warm in a double boiler until ready to serve.
Top your burgers with some Bearnaise and seasonal veggies for an elegant meal that everyone will love!

- Avocado slices or avocado mash (1/2 avocado mashed with salt)
This sauce is amazing.
It’s perfect for a veggie burger, even better when paired with a nice garden salad or steamed vegetables.
You can make this sauce in advance and store in your fridge for up to one week (if it lasts that long!).
- Heat garlic cream sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.
- Add freshly ground black pepper to taste before serving.
- For best flavor, serve immediately after cooking the garlic cream sauce, but if you’re preparing it ahead of time or want to reheat it later on in the day just give it one minute on low heat before serving.
The Thousand Island dressing is commonly used in sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs.
It is also a good compliment to veggie burgers.
The classic recipe calls for mayo, ketchup, relish and chives.
You can add more or less of each ingredient depending on your taste buds.
The sauce itself is not difficult to make, but the trickiest part is adding the right amount of each ingredient so that you don’t end up with a sweet mess (because there’s nothing worse than an over-sweetened sandwich).
Once you have made your own homemade version of this tasty condiment once or twice, then feel free to experiment with other ingredients such as dill pickles or dill relish powder.
