12 Best Italian Sausage and Spinach Recipes

There are a lot of Italian sausages on the market, but I always choose the ones with the best ingredients.

They taste better and they’re cheaper, too.

I think most of us can agree that no matter how you slice it, the best Italian sausage is made from top-quality pork.

And since there’s so much spinach in this world, why not make a meal out of it?

Here’s my list of 12 Italian sausage and spinach recipes.

1. Italian Sausage White Bean Soup

This recipe is the best! It’s healthy, hearty, and delicious.

The addition of some tasty links in the mix gives it an extra boost that will leave you feeling satisfied with just one bowlful – despite how filling this tastes like something much more substantial than what it actually contains nutritionally speaking (I bet even your favorite vegan would enjoy a dish made from this).

And believe me when I say – coming up for air during these cold winter days can be hard on everyone around here because we all know sometimes life throws us curveballs but at least now there’ll always be soup waiting on deck.

2. One Pan Creamy Italian Sausage Pasta

I love this recipe because it’s easy to make, packed with flavor, and a great dish for busy weeknights.

You can assemble the sauce in one pan then bake it!

My family loves anything that is new sounding so they were happy when I made them try something different like pasta mixed into tomato sauce – not only did both of my picky eaters enjoy their meal but everyone else got an amazing taste from all those fresh ingredients combined skillfully on top each individual serving too.

3. Keto Italian Sausage and Cauliflower Rice Soup

This is another recipe that makes me happy because it’s one of those recipes that I know I can make at any given moment, and yet I don’t even have to go online to find out how to make it since it’s a dish I grew up with!

I also love this because it’s a versatile recipe that you can add other things to depending on how you feel that day – I would serve this with some crusty bread and a nice green salad or a veggie burger on the side to make it a complete meal.

And when you do feel like eating pasta, I promise you’ll love this as much as my family does.

4. Sausage Orzo and Spinach Soup

This recipe is one of those dishes you can either make ahead of time or assemble while your guests are still here and let it sit on the stove so it can warm up all those yummy flavors in the meantime.

I usually have a lot of things going on at home – cooking, cleaning, helping my family with homework, etc. so I like to make soups that aren’t too complicated but still pack a nice punch of flavor. This one does just that.

It’s packed with protein and fiber and leaves you feeling full without being overly heavy or bloated afterwards.

5. Tortellini Soup with Italian Sausage & Spinach

If you like tomato soup but don’t like how heavy it is or how much it can mess with your stomach then I recommend this recipe because I’m convinced it’s going to change your life.

I’ve made this for years now and every time I serve it people are surprised by how light it is and how delicious it is – they actually love the flavor.

I’ll be honest – this recipe isn’t very labor intensive but I think that’s part of its charm. I’ve come up with a few ways of using up leftover ingredients and this is one of the most common ways.

I’ve even had people ask me for my secret recipe for this soup.

6. Creamy Tomato Pasta with Sausage

This is another favorite of mine for a reason! I’m a sucker for comfort food so whenever I make this I’m always reminded of all the times my family would sit down together in the evening around the kitchen table and share a meal.

And since we now live on opposite sides of the country – it’s hard for me to get together with my family too often so I really cherish these moments when we are able to enjoy a meal together – especially when it’s a recipe that we all love.

Serve this with some crusty bread and some salad greens and you’ll have yourself a meal that will make your heart smile just thinking about it – just like it made mine when I first tried it!

7. Crustless Sausage and Spinach Quiche

This recipe is great for a family night or for anyone looking for a quick, easy, and satisfying meal.

I love the taste of sausage and spinach together so I made sure to include both in this recipe. The addition of the bacon gives it a savory, smoky flavor while the eggs add a nice, creamy texture to the dish that you’ll find hard to resist.

If you don’t want to make a crust, you can use a simple biscuit-like topping to top off the quiche instead (if you’d like more of a crispy feel to your crust, you can try out my recipe for an even better tasting crust).

8. Cheesy One-Pot Gnocchi with Italian Sausage & Spinach

One of my favorite dishes that I learned to make from one of my favorite Italian women.

The combination of savory flavors makes this an exceptional one-pot meal and the fact that it can be made in advance and kept in the fridge for up to a week or two means that it’s not just for lazy nights.

It’s also a dish I’ve found myself making a lot when my family and I are on vacation because it’s great for packing and I love how simple it is to make.

I’ll warn you though, once you try this recipe you won’t be able to stop eating it!

9. Trader Joe’s Mac & Cheese with Italian Sausage and Spinach

I love using Trader Joe’s products because they are so convenient and affordable for my family but if you don’t have them around, you can substitute whatever you have on hand.

The pasta is just a basic macaroni but the real star of this recipe is the Italian sausage – it gives this dish that special flavor that really stands out from all the other “normal” macaroni dishes out there.

If you’re looking for a great way to add more protein to your diet, this one will definitely fit the bill. It’s a great dish to use up leftovers from your fridge or even if you’re lucky enough to find yourself some fresh spinach in the supermarket.

10. Italian Sausage and Spinach with Ziti

When I think of a dish that can easily be made with ingredients you have on hand this is one that’s always on my radar. You can even throw this together while you’re prepping for your next big meal – it’s that easy!

The combination of sausages, spinach, pasta, and tomato sauce makes for a satisfying meal – especially when it’s topped off with some Parmesan.

The sauce can be made ahead of time so you’ll have no problem getting a head start when the time comes to make this for dinner.

11. Italian Sausage, Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells

I’ve never seen a recipe for stuffed pasta shells that uses sausage as the filling but I love the flavor it adds to the dish. Plus it’s the perfect dish to make for your family during the holidays because it’s easy to make and makes great leftovers that you can enjoy all week long.

It’s not just a quick weeknight recipe either because it also tastes great cold or at room temperature and you can also use whatever kind of cheese you have on hand – as long as it’s not super fatty!

This is a great recipe to use up leftover meat too because you can use up a bunch of meat in just one batch and then freeze it for later. I usually use a mix of meat but I think the best option here is to just use whatever is on hand.

12. Italian Sausage Spinach and Havarti Crescent Braid

I’ve always been a fan of braid breads and this one is my new favorite because it’s easy to make, so delicious, and versatile. I’ve made it with fresh spinach and mushrooms, but you can easily swap those out for whatever ingredients are your favorite.

As a rule of thumb – anything goes when it comes to combining ingredients and I love this dish because I get to use up some leftover meat and use up some of that spinach I had lying around in the fridge too.

You can even use sausage that’s already cooked and you’ll still get a delicious dish because these are such versatile creations that you can customize to suit your taste.
