7 Tips When Making Strawberry Banana Smoothies without Yogurt

Strawberry banana smoothies are delicious and a great way to get your daily servings of fruit.
Here are some tips that will help you when making strawberry banana smoothies without yogurt:
1. Consider Adding Vanilla Protein Powder

If you want to add some extra protein to your smoothie, consider adding vanilla protein powder.
Protein powder is typically added to workout shakes, but it can also be added to fruit smoothies as well.
Some people like the flavor that protein powder adds to their strawberry banana smoothie, so if you enjoy the flavor, add some!
Don’t forget the ice cubes! Ice cubes provide the thickness and creaminess that’s needed for a smoothie.
2. Get the right ingredients

Make sure that you have the freshest fruits and veggies to make your smoothie taste better.
Buy organic fruits if possible because these are more nutritious than conventionally grown ones.
Also, buy organic milk or soy milk to avoid chemicals and antibiotics.
3. Add some protein

Add nuts like peanuts or almonds if you want to add more protein to your diet without using yogurt or other dairy products.
You can also add a tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter for a creamier texture.
4. Use ripe bananas

Bananas have a lot of natural sweetness, which is perfect for a banana strawberry smoothie.
Make sure your bananas are ripe for optimal sweetness and flavor! I like to use bananas that have some brown spots on the peel.
5. Add Enough Liquid
Add more liquid than usual because bananas tend to thicken the smoothie a lot when blended together with other fruits like strawberries which don’t have much water content at all.
6. Add Some Honey or Agave Nectar

For an added kick or to give your smoothie more sweetness, add some honey or agave nectar to the recipe.
If you want to keep it healthy, try using raw honey or raw agave nectar in place of the refined products sold at most stores.
7. Add a Dash of Cinnamon Powder or Ground Cloves

Another option is to add a dash of cinnamon powder or ground cloves to your strawberry banana smoothies without yogurt for added flavor and health benefits.
There is no need to go overboard here, just a small amount will do the trick!
7 Ways to Enjoy This Healthy Strawberry Banana Smoothie Without Yogurt

1. Replace your child’s sugary cereal with this smoothie
Smoothies are an excellent replacement for sugary cereals and a great way to get your kids to eat fruit for breakfast.
You can even add spinach or kale for additional vitamins, fiber and antioxidants.
It’s almost impossible to taste the leafy greens so you’ll be sneaking in extra nutrition without your kids even noticing.
I try to sneak spinach or another leafy green into every smoothie I make, but my four-year-old is on to me so this strawberry banana smoothie is one of our favorites because it doesn’t contain vegetables (other than the banana, which she doesn’t realize isn’t just a sweet fruit).
2. Swap out your morning coffee for this smoothie

It took me a while to come around to starting my day with a smoothie, but I’m now a total convert.
They’re so fast and easy to make, and there’s the obvious benefit of getting lots of healthy fruits and veggies in first thing.
Plus, they fill you up until lunch. And I don’t know about you, but I’m much more productive if I’m not starving.
3. Sip this smoothie as a nutritious snack between meals
This can keep you from reaching for unhealthy snacks like chips or candy, and it’ll give you an added energy boost.
4. Share this smoothie with your family
This recipe makes enough for two, so treat your partner or a friend to a smoothie too.
You can also share it with kids, but leave out the protein powder if theirs; It’s not necessary for toddlers and isn’t recommended for young children.
5. Make more than one batch of this smoothie
If you really love the flavor of strawberries and bananas together, make extra so you have some to enjoy later on.
Pour the leftover smoothies into freezer-safe containers and freeze them until you’re ready to enjoy them again. They’ll last up to three months in the freezer!
6. Freeze it as a smoothie pop
Pour the smoothie into popsicle molds and freeze for 4+ hours.
You can even add a few sliced strawberries or bananas to the mold before freezing for a little extra something-something.
7. Freeze it as a slushie
Pour the smoothie into an ice cube tray and freeze for at least 4 hours.
Once frozen, combine the cubes in a blender with 1/4 cup of milk and blend until slushy.
