Quick and Easy Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich

This recipe demonstrates how to make a diner-style open-faced roast beef sandwich complete with mashed potatoes and gravy.

Ingredients

  • 2 Hormel roast beef in au jus
  • Potatoes (about 8 medium)
  • Texas toast style bread
  • Beef broth (or bouillon cube)
  • Butter
  • Heavy cream
  • Cornstarch (or flour)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Water

Preparing the Potatoes

Cooking the Potatoes

Mashing the Potatoes

Making the Gravy
