One Pan Spaghetti & Meat Sauce Recipe

This one-pan spaghetti and meat sauce is a quick and easy weeknight dinner, perfect for busy families. Served with a side of homemade sweet cornbread, it’s a comforting and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb spaghetti pasta
  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1 bag frozen green beans
  • Cooking oil
  • 1 tsp beef bouillon powder
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste
  • All-purpose seasoned salt blend, to taste
  • Paprika, to taste
  • Granulated garlic powder, to taste
  • Dehydrated minced onion, to taste
  • Water
  • Sugar, to taste
  • 1 ½ cups self-rising yellow cornmeal
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter
  • Butter, for green beans
  • Garlic powder, for green beans
  • Onion powder, for green beans
  • Lemon pepper blend, for green beans
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish

Step 1: Prepare the Cornbread Batter

Add self-rising yellow cornmeal, sugar, all-purpose flour, eggs, vegetable oil, and buttermilk to a large bowl.

Mix until just combined. Add more buttermilk if needed to achieve a thick batter.

Step 2: Bake the Cornbread

Grease an 8-inch cast iron skillet with softened butter.

Pour the cornbread batter into the prepared skillet.

Bake in a preheated oven at 425° F for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.

Step 3: Brown the Ground Beef

Add cooking oil and ground beef to a large pan. Break apart the ground beef and cook over medium-high heat until browned.

Step 4: Season the Meat Sauce

Add beef bouillon powder, cracked black pepper, seasoned salt, paprika, garlic powder, and dehydrated minced onion to the browned ground beef.

Step 5: Add Marinara Sauce and Water

Pour the marinara sauce into the pan with the ground beef.

Fill the empty marinara jar with water and add to the pan. Add an extra cup of water, sugar, and more seasoning as needed.

Step 6: Cook the Spaghetti

Bring the sauce to a simmer. Add the spaghetti to the pan, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid. Add more water if needed.

Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the spaghetti is cooked to your liking, stirring occasionally.

Step 7: Cook the Green Beans

Sauté the frozen green beans in a separate pan with butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon pepper blend until tender.

Step 8: Serve

Serve the spaghetti and meat sauce garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes.
