FBI Director Kash Patel: Jan 6 Truth About Sources Will ‘Shock and Surprise’

Get ready. A definitive answer about January 6th is on the horizon.

And according to the new FBI Director, it might just “surprise and shock” everyone.

A New Era of Transparency at the FBI?

Kash Patel, now at the helm of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is making waves with a clear promise: transparency.

He says Americans deserve to know the full picture regarding significant events, and that includes the complex circumstances surrounding January 6, 2021.

Questions have lingered for years about the extent of government involvement or awareness in the events of that day.

Specifically, concerns have swirled around whether the FBI had confidential sources operating within the crowds.

Seeking the ‘Definitive Answer’

During a recent “Special Report” exclusive interview, Director Patel addressed this directly.

He acknowledged the public’s questions about the presence of FBI *sources* (not agents) on the ground during January 6th.

Patel stated he had promised to get a definitive answer on this very question.

And now, according to the Director, that answer has been found.

It is currently in the process of being divulged in cooperation with relevant partners.

Going Beyond Previous Reports

Last year, a report from the Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz provided some insight.

It revealed there were indeed confidential human sources in the crowd outside the Capitol on January 6th.

According to that report, 26 sources were present, but only three were specifically assigned by the FBI to be there.

The report stressed these sources were not authorized to break the law or encourage illegal acts.

One of the three tasked sources reportedly entered the Capitol building.

However, Director Patel indicated that this IG report is only “definitely a piece of the truth.”

A Different Approach to Leadership

Patel contrasted his approach with that of past FBI leadership.

He specifically referenced former Director Christopher Wray’s testimony before Congress on the matter.

Patel described Wray’s responses as deflecting and giving a “D.C. answer.”

“Why it took a ton of time and questioning in Congress for the director to get that point is what I’m trying to eliminate from the FBI,” Patel stated. “If Congress asks you a question under oath, whether or not there were sources in [or] around January 6th at the Capitol, you as the director of the FBI need to know that and not deflect and give a D.C. answer. You have to be prepared for that.”

This focus on direct, prepared answers under oath signals a potential shift in how the FBI interacts with congressional oversight and the public.

The Shocking Truth is Coming

So, what is this definitive answer that goes beyond the IG report?

While the full details are not yet public, Director Patel’s comments suggest it will be significant.

He explicitly stated that the findings may “surprise and shock people because of what past FBI leaders have said about it.”

This indicates the forthcoming information could potentially contradict previous public statements or reveal a deeper level of source involvement or knowledge than previously disclosed.

The answer regarding FBI sources on the ground during January 6th is confirmed to be “coming,” according to Director Patel.

A Commitment to Answers

Beyond January 6th, Patel has vowed to bring answers to other lingering questions.

These include investigations into the pipe bombs found on January 6th, the cocaine discovered at the White House, and the origins of the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation into alleged Trump-Russia ties.

For now, the focus remains on the promised January 6th revelation, which Director Patel insists will provide the clarity Americans “deserve.”
