Easy Butter Noodles Recipe

This classic butter noodles recipe is the perfect comforting side dish that pairs wonderfully with pot roast or any meat-and-gravy combination. With just a handful of simple ingredients, you can create a creamy, satisfying pasta dish that’s both versatile and delicious.

Ingredients

- 12 oz (340g) extra-wide egg noodles
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley

Step 1: Prepare the Cooking Water
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil

- Add 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water

Step 2: Cook the Noodles
- Add egg noodles to the boiling water

- Stir the noodles and let them cook for 7-9 minutes according to package instructions

- Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining

- Drain the remaining water from the noodles

Step 3: Create the Butter Sauce
- Add butter to the hot noodles

- Stir until the butter begins to melt

- Add 1/4 cup of reserved pasta water

- Stir to combine butter and pasta water until creamy

Step 4: Finish and Season
- Add grated parmesan cheese

- Add more pasta water if needed to achieve desired creaminess

- Mix thoroughly

- Add fresh cracked black pepper to taste

- Add fresh chopped parsley

- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt if needed



Note: The dish can also be made without cheese, using just butter, salt, and pepper for a simpler version.
