Bourbon Street Hustler Danette Colbert linked to second man’s death after killing Super Bowl reporter Adan Manzano
A notorious French Quarter predator may have claimed more lives than investigators initially realized. The web of deception surrounding a young journalist’s death just got darker.

The Reporter Who Never Made It Home
Adan Manzano was living his dream. The 27-year-old Telemundo sports reporter had traveled from Kansas City to cover Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
It was supposed to be the assignment of a lifetime. Instead, it became his final story.
On February 5th, housekeeping staff at the Comfort Suites hotel in Kenner, Louisiana, made a horrifying discovery. Manzano lay face-down in his room, motionless.

A Predator’s Hunting Ground
The French Quarter has always attracted tourists seeking adventure. But for some, those dark streets hold deadly secrets.
Danette Colbert, 48, earned her nickname “Bourbon Street Hustler” through years of targeting vulnerable men. Her method was sickeningly simple: drug them, rob them, disappear.
Social media posts documented her exploits across multiple states. Las Vegas authorities had already linked her to similar crimes there.

The Fatal Encounter
Hotel surveillance cameras captured the moment everything went wrong for Manzano. At 4:30 AM on February 5th, he entered the Comfort Suites with Colbert.
Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley described what happened next with chilling precision.
“They came back to the hotel… we do have surveillance video from the lobby showing them going into his room around that time. Then she came out, ran to the store, came back about 30 minutes later, and within 10 or 15 minutes, she left the room. And he was never seen again.”
The autopsy revealed Xanax and alcohol in Manzano’s system. The combination proved lethal.

The Criminal Network Exposed
Investigators quickly realized Colbert wasn’t working alone. Credit card fraud led them to accomplice Ricky White, who faces murder charges alongside multiple fraud counts.
But the investigation didn’t stop there. Digital evidence revealed a third conspirator: Christian Anderson, 33, of New Orleans.
Police discovered Anderson had rented the vehicle Colbert used on the day of Manzano’s death. Text messages showed extensive communication between the suspects following the incident.

A Pattern of Deadly Deception
The charges against Anderson paint a picture of calculated criminal enterprise:
- Principal to simple robbery
- Purse snatching
- Access device fraud
- Illegal transmission of monetary funds
- Bank fraud and computer fraud
Police believe this trio operated as a coordinated team, systematically targeting victims across the French Quarter.

The Shocking Connection
But here’s what investigators are now revealing that changes everything about this case.
Kenner Police believe Colbert may be connected to a second man’s death in New Orleans. The “career criminal” who orchestrated Manzano’s fatal encounter appears to have left more victims in her wake.
Authorities haven’t released details about the second fatality, but the pattern suggests Colbert’s deadly scheme may have claimed multiple lives across the Big Easy.
The investigation continues as police urge anyone with information about Colbert’s activities to come forward. Many victims, Chief Conley noted, remain silent due to the sensitive nature of her crimes.
Colbert has already been sentenced to 25 years in prison for unrelated charges. Now, she faces the possibility of spending the rest of her life behind bars as the full scope of her criminal enterprise comes to light.
