Ingredients
For the Marinade:
- 2 lbs thin-cut top round beef
- 12 fl oz beer
- 2-3 medium limes, juiced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper
For Cooking:
- 2½-3 cups beef broth
- Corn tortillas for serving

Step 1: Prepare First Layer of Marinade
Layer half of the beef in a dish

Squeeze juice of half a lime over the meat

Add sliced onions

Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro

Season with garlic powder and onion powder

Add fresh minced garlic

Sprinkle paprika

Add salt

Finish with more lime juice

Step 2: Prepare Second Layer
Add remaining beef

Layer with remaining onions

Add garlic

Season with onion powder

Add garlic powder

Add salt

Add cracked black pepper

Pour juice of another lime over meat

Step 3: Complete Marinade
Pour beer over the meat

Add remaining cilantro on top

Cover with cling film

Marinate in refrigerator for at least one hour

Step 4: Cook the Meat
Preheat a large pan

Add marinated meat with its liquid to the hot pan

Allow meat to cook and liquid to reduce

Add beef broth

Let simmer until meat is tender and liquid has reduced

Let meat rest before chopping for tacos

Chop meat into smaller pieces
